Dave Asprey proved his marketing genius when he touted his coffee as a nutritious fat delivery system and named it “Bulletproof.”  There is much skepticism of the claims made by Asprey (here, here, here and here) but suffice it to say, if you like coffee and are moving in the direction of a ketogenic diet, a Bulletproof-like coffee or tea mix could be for you.

We like Starbucks organic Yukon blend ground for a cone coffee maker like our Moccamaster. Most mornings we follow the original Bulletproof recipe by dumping the coffee, grass-fed heavy cream, medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil and organic unsalted cultured butter into the Vitamix and blending for just long enough to homogenize the mixture. If we’re on the run, we just zap some cream and butter in the microwave and pour the coffee on top giving it a brief stir on the way out the door.

Recipes We Tried and Liked This Week

Our hit of the week was Ina Garten’s Mustard Roasted Fish featuring oven-roasted Mahi plied with a luscious sauce of creme fraiche, mustard, shallots and capers. We literally could not get enough!
